Pakistan to play West Indies in day-night Test
Pakistan and West Indies will contest just the second day-night Test in history in Dubai.
On Thursday, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced the schedule for West Indies’ tour of the United Arab Emirates later this year – made up of three Twenty20s, three one-day internationals and three Tests.
The first of those Tests, at the Dubai Cricket Stadium between 13-17 October, will be played under lights using a pink ball – the first time either country has done so.
Australia and New Zealand contested a historic first day-night Test at the Adelaide Oval in November 2015, with Australia set to do so again versus South Africa and Pakistan later this year.
To prepare for conditions under the lights with the pink ball, West Indies will play a three-day warm-up game against a PCB Patrons XI at Sharjah, the week prior to the day-night Test.
