Our club is built on discipline – Enyimba suspend team masseur Ifeanyi Kalu
Following an incident that occurred in Enyimba’s 1-0 defeat to Niger Tornadoes on Saturday 10th September 2016, Enyimba Football Club has suspended an official, Mr Ifeanyi Kalu for unsportsmanlike behavior.
Ifeanyi Kalu who is the club first team masseur has also been fined a month’s salary following his actions and will not be part of the Enyimba ‘s technical area till further notice a statement released by the clubs official says.
“Enyimba Football Club disassociates itself from his actions and condemns the behavior in the strongest terms possible.
“Our club is built on discipline and respect for the opposition, the match officials and for the rules of the game and at such we have zero tolerance for anything in the contrary. Our uttermost stance is that our players and officials maintain a cool head regardless of provocation or other circumstances”.
“Mr Kalu has apologized for his actions but he must face the consequences of his actions and hence will be fined a month’s wages and suspension from the Enyimba technical area”.
The club also wishes to appeal the unwarranted red card given to one of our players, Dare Ojo in the course of the incident on Saturday. We ask that it be reversed and the performance of the Center Referee which we see as below par, reviewed.
