Ikorodu United beat Enyimba to continue their survival chase

Ikorodu United beat Enyimba 3-2 at the Abiola Stadium, Abeokuta to continue their survival chase.

A minute after the hosts took the lead, Enyimba were given a penalty after Ikorodu goalie Azeez upended Najare in the box and the referee pointed to the spot, Mfon Udoh equalized for Enyimba from the spot.

Adamu Azeez denied Mfon Udoh and Osadiaye in the 42nd and 43rd minutes with stunning saves, at half time it remained all square.

Balogun Oluwole’s superb strike put the hosts in front again in the 53rd minute, Musa Olajire equalized for the visitors. With both teams going for the kill, it was Ikorodu United who got the goal.

Substitute Michael Okoyoh scored in the 68th minute against his former club to put the hosts in front again, the goal was enough to earn Ikorodu United the maximum points and their fourth victory in five games.

Ikorodu United are now 7 points within saftey while 2015 champions Enyimba are 7 points adrift the leaders.
