Nigerian Players in Europe: Imoh, Kelechi, Leon win as Ajagun, Agbo and Ogbeche crash
Imoh Friday, Kelechi Iheanacho and Leon Balogun were on the winning sides in mid-week actions across Europe but Abdul Ajagun, Taiwo Awoniyi, Uche Agbo were unlucky as their clubs suffered defeats.
About five Nigerian were in action for their clubs in the Netherlands – KNVB Beker and only Imoh Friday was lucky to be on the winning side.

Kelechi Iheanacho failed to score in Manchester City’s 2-1 victory of Swansea in the League cup but the Nigerian will be pleased with his display on the night.

Uche Henry Agbo played for the entire duration as Granada lost at home to Athletic club 2-1. The Watford loanee shone again in his side’s defeat.

Leon Balogun helped Mainz 05 beat Werder Bremen 2-1 away from home in their Bundesliga mid-week clash
HOLLAND
Roda JC
Abdul Ajagun was sub off in the 73rd minute as his club, Roda JC suffered a 4-0 defeat in the hands of PSV in the Netherlands – KNVB Beker.
Nijmegen Eendracht Combinatie (NEC)
Taiwo Awoniyi came in the 2nd half but couldn’t stop his club from going out of the Netherlands – KNVB Beker.
Fortuna Sittard
Junior Torunarigha’s Fortuna Sittard lost 2-1 to Spakenburg in the Netherlands – KNVB Beker, the Nigerian attacker played for the entire duration but still ended on the losing side.
AZ
Imoh Fred Friday turned up as his club beat FC Lienden away from home in the Netherlands – KNVB Beker. The AZ attacker who is yet to score for his club was removed for Helmer in the 81 minute of the tie.
Willem II
Veteran striker Batholomew Ogbeche was an unused sub as high flyers Ajax trash his Willem II side 5-0 in the Netherlands – KNVB Beker.

Stanley Amuzie was again an unused sub as his side lost 2-0 to Bologna in their Serie A mid week clash.

Joel Obi played the last 17 minutes of the game as his club played a goalless draw against Pescara.

Simeon Tochukwu Nwankwo was an unused sub for Crotone in their 4-0 defeat in the hands of Roma.
