Nigerians Abroad: Ndidi, Kayode on target as Emenike, Simon & Ogu crash with their clubs

While Nigeria’s Wilfred Ndidi and Olarewaju Kayode scored for their clubs, Emmanuel Emenike, John Ogu, Simon Moses crashed with their clubs in Thursdays Europa league matches played across Europe yesterday.

Kayode Olanrewaju – Austrian Wien

Roma were running away with a comfortable victory before former Nigeria U-23 star Kayode Olanrewaju stepped up to save the day, the Nigerian assisted his clubs first and scored the equalizer in their 3-3 draw at the Stadio Olimpico.

Wilfred Ndidi – Genk

Nigerian International Wilfred Ndidi scored a screamer as his club ran away with a 2-0 victory over Athletic Club in Thursday Europa League match at the Luminus Arena.

Emmanuel Emenike – Fernabache

Emmanuel Emenike’s Fernabache knew they needed more than luck to beat Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United and on the night and luck was not on their side as they suffered a 4-1 defeat at Old Trafford.

Although, Emmanuel Emenike wouldn’t be happy with his side heavy lost, he should be with his contribution as he came in the second half to assist Robin van Persie’s goal against his former club.

Friday Imoh – AZ

Friday Imoh played the entire duration as his Dutch based club suffered 2-1 defeat at home in the hands of Maccabi Tel Aviv.

Leon Balogun – Maiz 05

Leon Balogun who just came back from an injury was an unused in his club’s 1-1 home draw against Anderlecht.

Brown Ideye – Olympiakos

The Nigerian striker was an unused sub as his Greek club routed Astana 4-1 at the Stadio Georgios Karaiskáki.

Simon Moses, Anderson Esiti – Gent

Simon Moses was on the pitch the entire minute but couldn’t prevent his club from going down 5-0 against Shakhtar Donetsk.

Anderson Esiti was an unused sub on the night.

John Ogu, Anthony Nwakaeme – Hapoel Beer Sheva

Nigerian duo of John Ogu, Anthony Nwakaeme lost narrowly at home to Sparta Praha. The Nigerians would be unlucky to have not won atleast a point on the night as they gave the match everything but Pulkrab 71st minutes strike gave the visitor the maximum point.

Aminu Umar, Raheem Lawal – Osmanlispor

Raheem Lawal and Aminu Umar were instrumental in their club’s 2-2 draw against Villarreal yesterday.
