Kawhi stars as Spurs rally past Timberwolves, DeRozan scores 36
The San Antonio Spurs outlasted the Minnesota Timberwolves, while DeMar DeRozan inspired the Toronto Raptors.
Kawhi Leonard starred in the NBA on Tuesday as the Spurs defeated the Timberwolves 122-114.
DeRozan had 36 points in Toronto’s 119-109 victory over the free-falling Brooklyn Nets.
A triple-double from James Harden was not enough for the Houston Rockets to avoid a 109-103 loss to the Miami Heat.
LEONARD SPARKS SPURS COMEBACK
The Spurs trailed 71-67 at half-time but led by Leonard, San Antonio edged the Timberwolves.
Leonard had his fourth consecutive game with 30 or more points to become the first Spurs player to post 950 points in the first half of a season since Tim Duncan in 2013.
DEROZAN STARS FOR RAPTORS
In New York, DeRozan had a double-double as the Raptors inflicted more misery on the sorry Nets.
Cory Joseph had a career-high 33 points to condemn the Nets to an 11th successive defeat.
DRAGIC HELPS HEAT STUN ROCKETS
The Heat upstaged the Rockets thanks to Goran Dragic’s 21 points and eight assists.
Harden’s triple-double of 40 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists was not enough to lift the Rockets in Miami.
