NBA Round Up: Cavs´ beaten again, Thomas leads Celtics as Embiid-less 76ers win
The Cleveland Cavaliers’ recent NBA struggles continued, while Isaiah Thomas again powered the Boston Celtics.
The Cavs slumped to their fourth loss in six games with a 104-97 defeat at the hands of the Dallas Mavericks.
Thomas led the Celtics, who overcame the Detroit Pistons 113-109.
Meanwhile, the Philadelphia 76ers ended their two-game skid by edging the Sacramento Kings.
CAVS CRASH
The Cavs’ recent problems continued against the Mavericks.
LeBron James had 23 points, nine rebounds and nine assists, while Kyrie Irving finished with 18 points.
The Mavs were led to their win by a double-double from Harrison Barnes (24 points and 11 rebounds) and a 21-point haul from Wesley Matthews.
TREMENDOUS THOMAS
Thomas carried the Celtics to their win with 41 points, 24 of which came in the fourth quarter.
He also had eight assists, while Jae Crowder finished with 21 points and eight rebounds.
Andre Drummond had a huge game for the Pistons with 28 points and 22 rebounds.
PHILADELPHIA BEAT COUSINS, KINGS
Not even 46 points, 15 rebounds and five assists from DeMarcus Cousins was enough for the Kings.
They went down to the Joel Embiid-less 76ers 122-119.
Robert Covington had 23 points and 10 rebounds for the winners.

HEAT EDGE NETS
The Miami Heat overcame the Brooklyn Nets 104-96, the Minnesota Timberwolves needed overtime to get past the Orlando Magic 111-105 and the Memphis Grizzlies thrashed the Phoenix Suns 115-96.
THUNDER IN SAN ANTONIO
Russell Westbrook (30.8 points, 10.6 rebounds and 10.2 assists per game) and the Oklahoma City Thunder (28-20) take on the San Antonio Spurs (36-11) on Tuesday.
