By: Silver Edward
Rangers have crashed out of the CAF Champions League despite winning 2-1 in Enugu.
The Champions of the Nigeria Professional Football League started the game on fire, taking control of the midfield. Tope Olusesi netted the first goal for the Flying Antelopes in the 55th minutes closing in 4-2 on aggregate.
But the attacking forces of Enugu Rangers got complicated when Bobby Clement drew deeper into the midfield leaving Only Fortune Omoniware upfront.
A Clear Chance was created by Fortune Omoniware in the 54th minutes but was quickly cleared off by Mohammed Yussuf which resulted to Yussuf picking up a yellow card. Fortune came even more closer in 65th minutes but hit the crossbar.
Things got more hitted up when a defensive error caused by Osas Okoro led to Zamalek equalizing in the 71 minutes creating a distort atmosphere for Rangers fans.
With Rangers needing at least three more goals, Bobby Clement was substituted when it became blank clear his unwilling effort to go forward with Fortune Omoniware, bringing the introduction of Ocheme Edoh to the attacking forces.
Penalty was award to Rangers and was taken quickly by Godwin Aguda.
It ended; Rangers 2 vs Zamalek 1 (3-5 on aggregate).
Rangers will now complete in the CAF confederation cup.
