Russel Westbrook closes in on Oscar Robertson’s triple-double record

Oklahoma City Thunder’s guard Russel Westbrook closes in on Oscar Robertson’s long time standing 41 triple-doubles in NBA regular season.

Westbrook dropped 40 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists in Thunder’s 113-101 home loss to Charlotte Hornets on Sunday.

It was Westbrook’s 40th triple-double of the season, the 2017 MVP candidate has moved within one of Oscar Robertson’s record of 41 triple-doubles in an NBA regular season.

It was Westbrook’s fifth straight 30-point triple-double, which is the longest such streak in NBA history.
