LeBron James surpasses Kobe Bryant on two different NBA playoff record lists

LeBron James keeps inching up the NBA career records list, and he passed another former NBA great in Kobe Bryant in two different categories on Thursday.

In the second quarter of the Cleveland Cavaliers’ game three against the Indiana Pacers, James hit a jump shot to pass Bryant (5,640 career playoff points) for third on the NBA’s all-time playoff scoring list.

James seems a good bet to pass the number two playoff scorer, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (5,762 points), in another few games.

And if the Cavs make it to the Eastern Conference Finals, he would almost certainly top the number one man on the list, Michael Jordan, who finished with 5,987 points.

James was not done with Bryant.

In the third quarter, as the Cavs cut into a 25-point Pacers lead, James hit his 293rd career playoff three-pointer to pass Bryant for fourth on the all-time playoff list.

Next on the list is Manu Ginobili, who finished with 309 three-pointers. Ray Allen heads that list with 385, followed by Reggie Miller (320).

The Cavs claimed a 119-114 win over the Pacers, overcoming a huge half-time deficit to take a 3-0 lead in the series.

James finished with 41 points, 13 rebounds and 12 assists.
