Meet Carlos Henrique Raposo the striker who scored just 1 goal in his 24 years career
The likes of Rogério Ceni, José Luis Chilavert, Jorge Campos, and Vincent Enyeama were known to be good at both ends of the goalposts.
They prevented goals from coming in and could also put the ball in the net for their teams, these guys were not expected to score goals but they added goal scoring to their games.
But for Carlos Henrique Raposo whose primary role as a striker is to score goals to score just one goal having played for nine different teams within the 24 years career of his career was baffling.
Considering his tally is way below that of Ceni, Chilavert, Campos, and Enyeama who scored 131, 67, 46, and 20 respectively.
Raposo apparently was referred to as ‘Farce footballer’ for the role he played in for his clubs by faking injuries.
According to Wikipedia, he became friends with many footballers such as Carlos Alberto Torres, Ricardo Rocha, and Renato Gaúcho so that he could have a big network to be recommended whenever he needed a new club.
With a physical shape similar to that of professional footballers, but lacking skills; his fraud consisted of signing a short-term contract and stating that he was lacking match fitness so that he would spend the first weeks only with physical training where he could shine.
At the time he went to train with other players, he would feign a hamstring injury, and, by the lack of technology at the time, it was difficult to discover that it was a fake injury.Â
So with few appearances came zero goals since he never actually needed them to prove he can play for any club.
