Benzema ‘arrested over sex-tape blackmail involving Valbuena’

Real Madrid forward Karim Benzema has reportedly been arrested in connection to a blackmail case involving an alleged sex tape featuring Mathieu Valbuena.

The France international was recently detained by officers after arriving at a police station in Versailles. According to AFP, the arrest was in relation to the same case that resulted in former Liverpool striker Djibril Cisse being questioned by police.

Cisse was thought to be one of four people who tried to extort money from his former teammate Valbuena by threatening to release footage of the Lyon player having sex with his partner.

Madrid claimed that Benzema missed Wednesday night’s 1-0 win over Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League because of injury.
