Big boost for United as Mourinho confirms return of key player for Tottenham clash

Jose Mourinho has confirmed that defender Eric Bailly will be back available for selection for Manchester United’s clash with Tottenham next weekend.

The Ivory Coast defender has been out of action since suffering an injury while on international duty and he sat out the games against Liverpool and Huddersfield Town.

However, Mourinho has now confirmed that Bailly is on course to make his return to action for the Red Devils in the coming days and that he should be fit for the home clash against Premier League title rivals Tottenham at Old Trafford next weekend.

Speaking at a news conference ahead of Manchester United’s trip to Huddersfield, Mourinho said: “I expect Eric Bailly to be back next week.”

Manchester United are aiming to challenge for the Premier League title this season after having finished sixth in the table last term.

The Red Devils have not won the top flight crown since their final triumph under Sir Alex Ferguson in the 2012-13 campaign.

Manchester United won both the Europa League and League Cup under Mourinho last season.

The Red Devils have won all three of their opening Champions League games so far this season.
