Al Farouq Aminu stars in buzzer-beater loss to Clippers

Al-farouq Aminu was unlucky to end on the losing side on Thursday night at the Moda Center as his Portland Trailblazers fell to a three-point last shot from Blake Griffin.

Aminu who has been a key player for the Blazers started his fifth game of the season but ended 103-104 to Clippers despite his impressive display on the night.

Trailblazers entered the game on the bounce of a franchise NBA-record 17th straight home opener win but that was snapped by Los Angeles Clippers who themselves remain unbeaten so far this season.

The Chief played for 33 minutes and within his time on the court he was able to record numbers slightly better by only Damian Lillard and CJ MCCollum.

Al-Farouq Aminu posted 19 points on 6 of 11 shooting, he made 5 of his 8 shots behind the arc and had 100% points from the free throw line.

He added 6 rebounds, 2 assists, 3 steal and a monster block to keep his side in the game till Blake Griffin’s stopwatch three happened.

Neither team led by more than five points in the fourth quarter was a tight battle where neither team led by more than five points. Portland wiped out an 89-84 deficit when a clear-path foul led to a five-point possession for Al-Farouq Aminu.

Blazers: Hosts Phoenix on Saturday. Portland beat the Suns 124-76 in the season opener.

After five games this season Aminu is averaging 10.6 points, 9.4 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.0 steal in 29.2 minutes on the court.
