Victory for Cleveland and Miami as Warriors overcome 23-point deficit to beat Clippers

The Golden State Warriors continued their impressive start to the NBA season, overcoming a 23-point deficit against the Los Angeles Clippers to win 124-117 on Thursday.

Last season’s MVP Steph Curry again top scored for Golden State with 40 points and 11 rebounds as Harrison Barnes supplied 21 points and the Warriors extended their unbeaten run to start the season to 13 games.

Chris Paul was a doubt for the clash at Staples Center due to a groin injury, but returned from a two-game lay-off to score a season-high 35 points.

The Warriors are now 6-0 on the road and became just the fourth team in NBA history to go unbeaten in their opening 13 games.

Eastern Conference leaders the Cleveland Cavaliers overcame the Milwaukee Bucks 115-100 to snap a two-game slide.

LeBron James had 27 points and Kevin Love added 22 points and 15 rebounds in Ohio as the Cavs improved to 9-3.

Giannis Antetokounmpo scored a career-high 33 points as the Bucks rallied to close the gap to five late in the third quarter after falling behind by as many as 21.

Chris Bosh led the Miami Heat past the Sacramento Kings 116-109 as DeMarcus Cousins sat out due to a one-game suspension.

Bosh had 23 points and 11 rebounds, Dwyane Wade hit 24 and Tyler Johnson added 19 as Miami recorded their fourth win from their past five matches.

Marco Belinelli led the Kings with 23 but they remain winless in five this season without Cousins.
