Nigerian referee dies in Car crash
Referees in Nigeria are presently in mournful mood following the untimely death of a Premier League Referee of the Niger State Referees Council, Musa ShehuJauro who just died after a road crash on the Kaduna – Abuja expressway on Saturday.
Until his death, Shehu was one of the listed elite referees who handled NPFL and was in the centre in some of the matches handled since he became a premier league referee.
Kelechi Mejuobi National Publicity Secretary for the NRA in a statement on Sunday said the deceased was noted for his perfect control of matches, steadfastness, fair and firmness.
He added that he is one of the courageous arbiters the Nigeria Referees Association, NRA reckoned with, the loss has created a big vacuum as the Association will miss his rare qualities.
The NRA President, Tade Azeez who is shocked by the sad news has on behalf of the referee’s body sent words of sympathy to the family and Niger State Council for the unfortunate incident.
The NRA pray for the repose of the soul of the late Musa Shehu Mauro and the enlarged family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
