Rohr react to Eagles World Cup draw, says it’s an interesting group
Super Eagles manager Genort Rohr has reacted to the World Cup draw that pitched Nigeria in Group D alongside two times world champion, Argentina, Iceland and Croatia.
Speaking after the draws in Russia, Rohr reckoned that the Argentina game will be a tough one with Messi in the side
“We are in the last pot and we expected to be in group with teams ahead of us in the FIFA rankings, we have to prepare well,” said Rohr after the draw ceremony.
“Our first game will be against Croatia and we have to play a good friendly game, for example with Serbia because they played similar football. Our second game against Iceland, we have to go to the Northern part of Europe and get a good friendly game.
“We know about Argentina, they are a good team. This game will be more difficult than the friendly game we won, Messi will be available now. Iceland is a good team, they are strong and they have the best fans in Europe. They did well at the last Euros championship.
“It will be an interesting group and our last game against Argentina might decides a lot for us. We have to work hard and prepare.”
Nigeria will face Croatia on June 17, 2018 in the first group game, they will then tackle Iceland six days later while the game against Argentina will be on June 27.
