Ahlan Cup 2017: Rabiu Ali at the double as Kano Pillars emerge champions

NPFL side, Kano Pillars on Sunday evening claimed the inaugural edition of the Ahlan Cup after beating fellow NPFL side Akwa United to claim the crown in front of football fans who came from all walk of life.

Pillars who stayed unbeaten throughout the tournament tumped Akwa United 3 nil in what was a beautiful end to the 10 days long Ahlan Cup which hosted twelve clubs, eleven of those which are Nigeria Professional Football League teams and an amateur team.
The final which had interesting early exchanges between both teams soon became a walk in the park for the Sai Masu Gida boys after they scored 3 goals with less than 50 mins into the game. Captain Rabiu Ali bagged two goals while Junior Lokosa also registered a goal in the final.
Akwa United however maintained their beautiful style of play which in the end, did not yield the desired result. Pillars thus enter the record book as the winners of the first edition of Ahlan Cup.
