CAFCL: MFM coach, Ilechukwu takes blame for MC Algers defeat
Head coach of MFM FC, Fidelis Ilechukwu has admitted that his poor tactical decisions cost his side loss against MC Alger’s at Stade 5 Julliet, 1962 stadium, Sportsration.com reports.
The Olukoya Boys were thumped by 6-0 in the return 2nd leg of CAF Champions league qualifiers in Algeria.
“It was a very tough game. Our plan was to go there and get a points, but unfortunately, we conceded early,” Ilechukwu said.
“The players did their best and this is why I don’t want to shift the blame to the players because they did very well.
“We have learnt a lot of lessons against MC Algier and we would be looking to come back home and apply what we have learnt.
“Our main focus is on CAF Confederation Cup play-off and the Nigeria Professional Football League, and I believe we will work hard on the field, so as to move on positively from this experience.”
