Warriors beat Lakers to set NBA record
The Golden State Warriors have made the best ever start to an NBA season after a comfortable 111-77 win over the Los Angeles Lakers.
MVP Steph Curry led the way once more with 24 points at Oracle Arena on Tuesday.
With the win, the Warriors improved to 16-0 to start the season – breaking the previous record.
They had already matched the marks set by the 1948-49 Washington Capitols and 93-94 Houston Rockets.
Draymond Green had 18 points, seven rebounds and five assists, while Leandro Barbosa (13 points) and Klay Thompson (11) had double-digits in points.
Kobe Bryant, optimistic of an upset heading in, went one-of-14 from the field to finish with four points.
The struggling Lakers were outplayed from the outset, outscored 30-11 in the first quarter.
A 35-17 third ended any chances the Lakers had of a comeback as the Warriors’ incredible start continued.
