Mourinho vs Casillas: Familiar faces to do battle in a do or die contest
Stamford Bridge will stage a dramatic showdown between Chelsea and Porto on 9th December.
Julen Lopetegui’s men choked at home to Dynamo Kiev, succumbing 2-0 – a defeat that leaves them up against the ropes. Assuming the Ukrainians beat Maccabi Tel Aviv in the last round of fixtures, as they are expected to, Porto will have to win in London to reach the knockout stages, which would in turn dump out Chelsea.
After a bumpy ride so far this season, things are looking a whole lot rosier in the Champions League for the Blues, who currently top Group G and ran out rampant victors away in Israel.
José Mourinho’s men only need a draw against the coach’s old club in a fortnight’s time in order to clinch qualification, irrespective of the result in Kiev. Can Iker Casillas and co. storm the Bridge and get one over a familiar foe? One thing’s for sure: it should be a tasty encounter.
