Molde 2 Kristiansund 2: Leke James on target as MFK prepare for new Norwegian Tippeligaen season
Nigerian striker Leke James was on target as Molde FK played a 2-2 draw at the Aker Stadium in a club friendly game on Friday.
The 26-year-old striker who has been part of the games played by his side as they prepare for the new Norwegian Tippeligaen had a beautiful goal to show for his appearances for MFK thus far.
After playing a 1-1 draw against Danish giants Nordsjaelland in their last friendly game, Erling Moe’s side came out to get a win having gone winless in their last two friendly games, but could only settle for a 2-2 draw.
It was Kristiansund through Aliou Coly who took the lead in the 12th minute of the game but just two minutes after going down, the home team drew level Erling Knudtzon.
Nigeria’s Leke James then put his side in front in the 30th minute to ensure his side ended the first half with a goal cushion.
The visitors who are familiar with their hosts from playing together in the Norwegian top-flight league equalized in the 59th minute through Henrik Gjesdal.
The scoreline ended 2-2. Its now three games without a win for Leke James and his teammates. So far, they have lost 2-1 to CSKA Moscow, drew 1-1 against Nordsjaelland.
There is still plenty of time for Molde who finished second in the league in 2018, 4 points behind the champions Rosenborg to improve before their first game of the 2019 Norwegian Tippeligaen against Sarpsborg on the 30th of March.
