Okogie rejects Harden’s step-back, Al-Farouq helps Blazers beat Warriors

It was a big night for Nigerian players in the NBA as the season pauses for All-StarStar weekend. Josh Okogie showed the league how James Harden’s step-back three could be stopped with a monstrous block on the reigning MVP.

The rookie made James Harden earn his points on the night and to further prove his two-way ability he posted 16 points, 3 rebounds, 4 assists, and 2 steals & 1 block when defending unstoppable James Harden.

Here is his only block of the game

Al Farouq Aminu (Trail Blazers)

Al-Farouq Aminu played a key role in Portland Trailblazers 129-107 win against Golden State Warriors. He had 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 12 points including 2-of-4 from 3.

Giannis Antetokoumpo (Milwaukee Bucks)

Antetokounmpo rallied the Bucks from a 10-point fourth-quarter deficit, recorded his fifth triple-double of the season and led Milwaukee past Indiana 106-97. He finished with 33 points, 19 rebounds, and 11 assists to keep the Bucks atop the Eastern Conference heading into the All-Star break.

It would have been two Nigerian representing at the 2019 All-Star but for season injury to Victor Oladipo only Giannis Antetokoumpo will be representing Nigeria’s colour as the league stars gathered in Charlotte this weekend.

David Nwaba (Cleveland Cavaliers)

David Nwaba dropped 7 points, 7 rebounds and an assist as Cleveland Cavaliers suffered a 148-139 loss to Brooklyn Nets.

OG Anunoby (Toronto Raptors)

OG Anunoby helped Raptors to 129-120 win against Washington Wizards. Anunoby had 22 points including season-high 4-of-8 from three.
