U20 World Cup: Flying Eagles Cruise To Victory In Opener

The Flying Eagles of Nigeria on Friday at the 15,300 –capacity Tychy Stadium got their FIFA U20 World Cup campaign off to a winning start with a 4-0 thrashing of Qatar.
Two-time runners up, Nigeria enjoyed large spell of possession in the game and where duly rewarded when Effiong Maxwell was on hand to poke home from close range after the Qatar goalkeeper spilled the ball with some good work from the leftback and captain Ikouwem Utin.
Utin went on to grab a brace of an assist after a mesmerising run on the left got his marker in stitches to lay down on a plate for Henry Offia who scored with the simplest of touches
Man City teenager Tom Bamidele Bashiru got on to a delightful defence splitting pass from Kingsley Michael to effectively seal the win for Nigeria.
Aliu Salawudeen will however put the icing on the cake poking home from a corner kick as Paul Aigbogun side eased out a comfortable win.
Nigeria will play USA on Monday, 7:30pm as they hope to secure an early qualification.
