Odion Ighalo Out For Eight Weeks After Injury At AFCON

2019 Africa Cup of Nations Golden Boot winner, Odion Ighalo will be out for eighth weeks after sustaining a knee injury in Nigeria’s 1-0 win against Tunisia in the third place playoff at the AFCON.

lghalo was substituted in the game just before halftime after giving the Super Eagles an early lead, the goal which was enough to clinch Nigeria her 8th Bronze medal, the most in AFCON’s history.

“ I am now out for eight weeks and my club are not happy about it, but I thank God for every thing.” Ighalo was quoted as saying by ColinUdoh.com.

Ighalo earlier announced his retirement from international football after scoring 16 goals in 35 appearances for the Super Eagles.
