Victor Osimhen closes in on Victor Ikpeba’s record after goal in Lille’s win at Strasbourg

Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen is very close to breaking Victor Nosa Ikpeba’s long standing record after scoring the winner in Lille’s 2-1 win at Strasbourg.

The home team opened the scoring in the first half but Lille drew level in the second half.

Before Victor Osimhen stepped up to convert from the spot to earn his side the maximum points at Stade de la Meinau on Saturday.

The goal was Victor Osimhen 11th of the season which takes him just five goals towards equalling Victor Nosa Ikpeba’s 16th goal tally achieved in 1997/98 while he was with Monaco.

With 16 league games left in the season Victor Osimhen could match and break the long standing record.
