FIBAOQT: D’Tigress throw away 14 points lead in 71-76 loss to the world champions USA

Nigeria’s women national team, D’Tigress three away a 14-point in their 71-76 loss to World champions USA in Belgrade.

The African champions were just 20 minutes away from securing a famous victory against the Americans but their poor decisions, foul troubles and turn overs let them them.

D’Tigress led at the end of first half with 14 points after winning the first and second quarters 21-20, 19-6 for a total of 40-26 at the end of the first-second quarters.

The Americans came out smoking in the second half claiming the third quarter 24-17. They also took the fourth quarter 26-14.

Although D’Tigress lost to the champions by 6 points having led in the first half by 14 points, they would be proud of their performance against the highly rated side.

Ezinne Kalu was Nigeria’s top performer with 17 points, 8 assists, 4 steals and 4 rebounds.
