Debuchy tired of the bench, seeks talks with Arsene Wenger
Arsenal defender Mathieu Debuchy has revealed that he will hold talks with manager Arsene Wenger in the coming weeks regarding his future at the club.
The French right-back has found first-team opportunities limited at the Emirates Stadium over the past 12 months due to injury and the emergence of Hector Bellerin.
Debuchy has admitted that, with Euro 2016 in mind next summer, he will ask Wenger if he can leave the Gunners if he is not guaranteed more opportunities in the side. “At the moment, I need game time,” the 30-year-old told RMC. “The past two games, I haven’t been included in the [France] squad.
“Everything is clear. I need game time and that’s why I’ll have to discuss it with the coach soon. We’ll see what offers there are between now and [January] – if there are any.”
Debuchy has made 21 appearances for Arsenal since signing from Newcastle United in the summer of 2014.
