Willian breaks 18-year Arsenal record with debut display in win against Fulham

William Borges has broken a long standing Arsenal record with his display in their 3-0 win against Fulham as the new Premier League season began today.

Arsenal started the new Premier League season with a convincing 3-0 win against newly promoted Fulham in the first London derby of the 2020/21 season.

While Alexandre Lacazette, Gabriel Magalhães , Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang were on target, Willian Borges who moved from the Blue side of London to the Red side grabbed the headline.

The former Chelsea winger who was employed in the attacking midfield position by his new manager gave a good account of himself in his first game.

Willian earning two assists in the win becoming the first Arsenal player to do so on debut in the top flight since Ray Parlour in 1992 – and completing all but one of his 26 passes.

As at the time of this report, Arsenal are at the top of the Premier League table.
