Simy Nwankwo ends 6-game goal drought with 4th goal of the season

Super Eagles striker Simeone ‘Simy’ Nwankwo has ended his 6-game goal drought with a goal in Crotone’s 3-1 away loss to Sampdoria.

The Lanky striker finally found the back of the net for the first time since he last scored for Crotone in their 1-2 home lose to Atalanta in October.

Mikkel Damsgaard, and Jakub Jankto scored two goals for Sampdoria at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris before Simy reduced the deficit to one with a strike from the spot-kick.

The home team regained their two-goal cushion when Fabio Quagliarella scored the third goal in the 65th minute of the second half.

It was just Simy’s 4th league goal in 13 league games.
