Etebo on the verge of sealing Watford loan move

Super Eagles midfielder set to swell Hornets' Nigerian contingent to four

Nigerian midfielder Oghenekaro Peter Etebo is on the verge of completing a loan move to newly-promoted English Premier League side Watford FC from English Championship side Stoke City ahead of the 2021/22 English Premier League season.

Etebo, who joined Stoke City just before the 2018 FIFA World Cup, has spent the past two seasons on loan in the La Liga with Getafe and the Turkish Super Lig with Galatasaray. The 25-year-old energetic midfielder is set to move to Vicarage Road on a loan deal with a purchase option that can be activated at the end of the 2021/22 season.

Etebo becomes the second Nigerian to join the Xisco Munoz-led Hornets this summer after the signing of Emmanuel Dennis Bonaventure from Club Brugge. He would be the fifth Nigerian at the club this season, joining Isaac Success, Emmanuel Bonaventure, Tom Dele-Bashiru and William Troost-Ekong in the side.
