Aruna Quadri beats Timo Boll to win the City of Barcelona ITTT title
He is the first African to claim the title
Aruna Quadri has become the first African player to win the City of Barcelona International Table Tennis Tournament title after his victory against Timo Boll on Sunday.
The Nigerian, against all odds beat Timo Ball 3-1 in the final played at the Sports Salle Bonanova.
Quadri lost the first set 7-11 but took the remaining three sets 11-9, 11-9, 11-5 with both players giving it all for the last game in the last set as seen in the clip below.

A win for Timo Boll who is the current European Champion would have seen him won his second title but it was Aruna Quadri who took the day for his and Africa’s first.
He is the first African player to win the prestigious title.
