AFCON 2021: Ranieri faults NFF says Dennis could be stopped

Claudio Ranieri has hinted that Emmanuel Dennis could be stopped from representing Nigeria at AFCON 2021 in Cameroon.

The Italian cited a different reasons from the usual as to why Dennis could be stopped.

Dennis has been a valuable £3.5m acquisition for the Hornets scoring goals for fun with his latest coming yesterday in their 4-1 home loss to West Ham.

And the Italian who knows the value of the Nigeria is looking to capitalise on NFF mistake to hold on to his most important player.

“I’m not so sure I will miss him now, I don’t know if he goes,” he said when asked about Dennis. “Let’s think about it this week and then I will tell you.

“The national team has a time to send their precall, they don’t respect the days and I want to see very well.

“I know the email arrived late and I want to know everything. The email arrived late to call him. The national team has a time, during this time they have to send the precall, if they don’t send the precall, we can choose.”

Ranieri is suggesting Watford have the right to hold on to their player should the invitation comes in late.

Not sure the part of the FIFA rule the Thinker man is referring too but we wait and see as the matter unfolds.
