Watford celebrate Troost-Ekong award, Super Eagles 100% record
Dennis sends classy message
English club Watford and Dennis Emmanuel two of the names football followers in Nigeria would not want to hear from have sent classy messages to Nigerians.
The English Premier League club got on the wrong side of Nigerians when they stopped in-form Dennis Emmanuel from representing the country at the AFCON 2021.
They were also angry at Emmanuel Dennis for not pushing for a release as it was later revealed that the former Brugge forward didn’t do enough to get released by his club.
In fact, it was confirmed that Emmanuel Dennis opted to stay and help his club fight off relegation.
These information angered Nigerian fans that they stormed Watford’s official pages – wishing relegation upon the Hornets.
Since, the incidents, both Watford and Emmanuel Dennis have been wishing the team in Cameroon best of luck.
The latest came last night when Watford celebrated William Troost-Ekong Eagles captain for winning the man of the match.
Ekong was name the man of the match in Nigeria’s 2-0 win against Guinea-Bissau, he joins Kelechi Iheanacho and Simon Moses who won the award in the two previous games.
“William Troost-Ekong was named Man of the Match in Nigeria’s win against Guinea-Bissau!.”
And Nigerians for winning all three group D games.
“A goal for William Troost-Ekong as he and Maduka Okoye progress to the #AFCON2021 knockouts with a 100% record!”
On his part, Emmanuel Dennis also sent a classy message to his teammates.
“Congratulations to Super Eagles. Next round,” writes Emmanuel Dennis on his page.
Meanwhile, Watford are set to add Samuel Kalu to their list of Nigerian players according to reports. He is set to become the 6th Nigerians in their team.
