NBA Recap: Detroit Pistons claim important win over Cavaliers
Suns, Hawks, Timberwolves, Clippers all win
The Detroit Pistons picked up their first win in four attempts as they defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers 115-105 on their NBA encounter on Sunday.
The Pistons have been in poor form, with only three wins in ten games coming into this clash. Impressive performances from a number of players, however, helped them pick up a vital win.
Saddiq Bey led the scoring for the Pistons with 31 points in the game, while Isaiah Stewart contributed a double-double of 14 points and 12 rebounds. Number one draft pick of the 2021 class Cade Cunningham contributed a triple-double for the Pistons with 19 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists on the night.
Anthony Davis returned but could not prevent the Los Angeles Lakers from losing 129-121 against the Atlanta Hawks. Trae Young led the scoring for the Hawks with 36 points and 12 assists in the game, and John Collins finished with 20 points and 11 rebounds. Davis and Malik Monk combined for 60 points for the Lakers in their defeat.
The Los Angeles Clippers defeated the Charlotte Hornets 115-90 in their encounter in the NBA on Sunday. Reggie Jackson contributed 19 points with four rebounds and five assists for the Clippers in the game, and Luke Kennard had a 14-point and 10-rebound double-double.
The Minnesota Timberwolves picked up a 126-106 win over the Utah Jazz in their NBA clash. Karl-Anthony Towns finished the game with a triple-double of 31 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists for the Timberwolves.
The Phoenix Suns defeated the San Antonio Spurs 115-110. Devin Booker led the scoring for the Suns with 28 points in the game, while Chris Paul contributed 20 points and 19 assists and Bismack Biyombo contributed 10 points and 11 rebounds.
Orlando Magic picked up an impressive 110-108 win over the Dallas Mavericks in their NBA match. Chuma Okeke led the scoring for the Magic with 19 points in the game as Franz Wagner finished with 18 points.
The Chicago Bulls returned to winning ways in the NBA with a 130-116 win over the Portlnd Trail Blazers. Nikol Vucevic led the scoring for the Bulls with 24 points and 14 rebounds in the game, and DeMar DeRozan finished with 23 points and 10 assists.
The Denver Nuggets picked up a comprehensive 136-100 win over the Milwaukee Bucks in their NBA clash. Aaron Gordon led the scoring for the Nuggets with 24 points, and Nikola Jokic finished with 18 points and 15 assists. Giannis Antetokounmpo led all scorers with 29 points for the Bucks.
