Chris Houghton Ghana’s Technical Adviser looking forward to beating Nigeria to World Cup ticket
Former Republic of Ireland player Chris Houghton has confirmed his readiness to help his fatherland Ghana pick the ticket to 2022 World Cup ahead of Nigeria.
The Black Stars of Ghana and Super of Eagles of Nigeria go against each over two legs with the aggregate winner picking up the ticket to Qatar 2022.
And the former Newcastle manager who was recently appointed to lead the Black Stars has assured his people of success against Nigeria.
Chris Houghton who is currently not in Ghana, allayed any doubt or fears over his availability for the games and commitment to the nation’s course.
By explaining his role in the Ghanaian coaching set up and assuring that he has a lot to offer to the team.
“Yes, and I have a lot of energy. I am going to be involved with Ghana,” Hughton said when asked about his involvement with the Black Stars.
“My father hailed from Ghana and Ghana have two World Cup play-off games against Nigeria. I am involved in that.
“There is a coach but I have the title of technical advisor and my role will be to support the coach and the staff for these two games.
“But I am very much looking to get back and have a lot to offer.”
The first leg will be played at the Cape Coast Stadium on March 25 with the reverse fixture scheduled for the Moshood Abiola Stadium, Abuja on March 29th.
