Depay mocks RvP – Do big boys play for Fernabache?

Memphis Depay allegedly became involved in a heated row with Robin van Persie while the pair were on international duty with Holland in October.

According to the Dutch newspaper Voetbal Primeur, the argument started when Depay refused to pass the ball to Van Persie as they trained ahead of Holland’s Euro 2016 qualifier in Kazakhstan.

Van Persie, 32, is then said to have asked Depay: “Do you think you’re a big boy?” Depay then reportedly replied: “Do big boys play for Fenerbahce?”

Striker Van Persie was sold to the Turkish outfit by Manchester United last summer, while 21-year-old Depay was plucked from PSV Eindhoven by Louis van Gaal’s side for a reported fee of around £19m.
