REPORT: Man Utd want Osimhen as Ronaldo replacement
Manchester United are targeting Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen for a summer transfer swoop to replace Portugal star Cristiano Ronaldo.
According to Italian journalist Ciro Venerato, United are in talks with Napoli on securing the signature of the 23-year-old Nigerian international who is valued at £100m.
It was further reported that Reds’ interim manager Ralf Rangnick is keen on bolstering their attacking options this coming summer and Osimhen is identified as a top target.
“Manchester United focuses on the Nigerian, Rangnick wants him to replace Cristiano Ronaldo”, Venerato said on La Domenica Sportiva as seen on Calcioinpillole.
“The club and the player have already been probed, with President De Laurentiis valuing him 100 million.
“At the same time, Napoli asked Sassuolo for information for Scamacca, considered by Spalletti as the best possible heir of Osimhen”.
Osimhen is under contract at Naples until 2025 and has featured in 52 games for the club, scoring 21 times.
