2022 NBA Playoffs: Celtics win thrilling Game 1 against Nets

Phoenix Suns, Milwaukee Bucks, Miami Heat win playoff openers

The Boston Celtics started their 2022 NBA Playoffs journey with a hard-earned 115-114 win over a rejuvenated Brooklyn Nets side. Jayson Tatum hit a buzzer-beater in the last second of the game to give the Celtics a 1-0 lead in the series.

Tatum led the scoring for the Celtics with 31 points in the game, and Jaylen Brown scored 23 points. Kyrie Irving scored an impressive 39 points for the Nets who go into Game 2 of their 2022 NBA Playoffs with a defeat.

Phoenix Suns swept aside the New Orleans Pelicans in Game 1 of their 2022 NBA Playoffs first round match-up. 37-year-old point guard Chris Paul was the star of the show as the number one seeds picked up a 110-99 win over the Pelicans.

CP3, as the point god is known, led both teams in points and assists, as he contributed 30 points and 10 assists for the Suns. Devin Booker finished the game with 25 points for last season’s Western Conference Champions.

Giannis Antetokounmpo led the Milwaukee Bucks to a hard-fought 93-86 win over the Chicago Bulls in their 2022 NBA Playoffs opener. The reigning champions showed impressive defending skills to severely limit the Bulls’ offensive plays.

Antetokounmpo finished the game with 27 points and 16 rebounds for the Lakers. Brook Lopez contributed 18 points and Jrue Holiday scored 15. Nikola Vucevic led the scoring for the Bulls with 24 points in the game.

Miami Heat held off the Atlanta Hawks 115-91 to claim a win in Game 1 against them. Duncan Robinson recorded some insane shooting as he picked up 27 points for the Heat. He shot eight 3s and had a 90% FG accuracy, missing only one of 10 attempts in the game.

Miami Heat managed to stifle Trae Young, who looked like a shadow of himself all through his time on the court. He made only eight points throughout the game, with Danilo Gallinari having scored 17 points for the Hawks.
