Milwaukee Bucks took a giant step towards winning their NBA Conference Semifinals series against the Boston Celtics with a 110-107 win at the TD Garden in Game 5 to give them a 3-2 lead in the series.
Having been dominated for most of the match, Milwaukee Bucks went into the final ten minutes of the clash with a 14-point deficit and defeat staring them in the face before impressive contributions from Giannis Antetokounmpo and Jrue Holiday saw them close out an unlikely win.
Antetokounmpo finished the game with 40 points and 11 rebounds, and Holiday finished with 24 points just as Bobby Portis scored 14 points and 15 rebounds. For the Celtics, Jayson Tatum led the scoring with 34 points in the game.
Despite the absence of the injured Ja Morant, Memphis Grizzlies managed to force a sixth game against the Golden State Warriors after a brilliant 134-95 win in Game 5 of the NBA Conference Semifinals.
The young Grizzlies side had narrowly lost Game 4 but were up for the task in the fifth game of the series. The trio of Tyus Jones, Desmond Bane, and Jaren Jackson Jr each scored 21 points for the Grizzlies, with Dillon Brooks, Ziaire Williams, De’Anthony Melton and Brandon Clarke all reaching double figures for points scored.
For the Warriors, Klay Thompson scored 19 points and Jonathan Kuminga scored 17 points as they delivered a subdued performance in Memphis.
