Ex-Nigerian International Advises Super Eagles Head Coach Jose Paseiro To Stick With Record Breaking Super Eagles Squad.
Ex-Nigerian International Jonathan Akpoborie has advised new Super Eagles Head Coach Jose Paseiro to ensure stability in the Super Eagles by sticking with the crop of players who featured in the 10-0 defeat of Sao Tome and Principe.
Akpoborie made this disclosure in a chat with Complete Sports on the backdrop of the teams impressive start to the 2023 AFCON Qualifiers with the Super Eagles recording 2-1 and 0-10 victories over Sierra Leone and Sao Tome & Principe respectively.
The former Wolfsburg striker said “ I am so confident that the current crop of players in the Super Eagles are capable of qualifying and competing for the 2023 AFCON tournament. However, the coach, Jose Peseiro must ensure that he maintains a winning team. This will help the players also understand themselves and create a perfect relationship.
“It’s also a good one that they defeated Sao Tome 10-0, that will at least send some message to other teams in Africa. My major concern is for the coaching crew to maintain stability in the team.” Akpoborie concluded.
The Super Eagles will regroup in September to continue their 2023 AFCON Qualification journey with Head Coach Jose Paseiro expected to welcome back Injured Wilfred Ndidi a notable name missing in the last Super Eagles roster.
