Cameroon coach Gabriel Zabo says Nigeria’s experience the difference as he eyes Sunday’s Play-off

The Indomitable Lioness head coach Gabriel Zabo has fingered Nigeria’s experience as the reason they lost their WAFCON quarterfinal game on Thursday.

Rasheedat Ajibade scored the only goal to hand Nigeria the win and place in the 2022 WAFCON semis and 2023 FIFA World Cup slot.

Cameroon played the best part of their game after they went down as they poured forward in search of an equalizer which never came.

And coach Gabriel Zabo who could only watch from the bench as his side lost to Nigeria said his side were not weak but only lost to small details.

“The game was won on fine details. They were not stronger than us, but they used the experience they have in the big competitions. And in this game, when it comes to utilizing their experience, they are unbeatable.

“It’s not all over, we still have a chance to qualify for the World Cup this Sunday. My players showed by their level of play tonight that they were happy to be globalists,” said Zabo.

All hopes are not lost for Cameroon as they could still make it to the World Cup but would have to make it through the CAF playoff and FIFA intercontinental playoff.

They will play in the CAF playoff against Botswana this Sunday, a win in the game will qualify the Indomitable Lionesses for the FIFA Intercontinental playoff.

“We have a few hours to watch the video this match, see what was going on and what was wrong. I will give the girls some time to digest this elimination. But I assure you that we will get back on track very quickly,” he concludes before leaving the press conference room.

Small or big details, we’ve won and will continue to do so. Though Cameroonians are our best and lovable people.may be next time we shall allow them to win.
