Blessing Oborududu beats Linda Morais to claim Nigeria’s 7th Gold medal at 2022 CWG
Blessing Oborududu has claimed Nigeria’s 7th Gold medal at the 2022 Commonwealth Games after beating Canada’s Linda Morais to claim the top prize in the women’s Freestyle 68kg Wrestling event.
Oborududu defeated Canada’s Linda Morais 5-1 (VPO1) to win Nigeria’s 2nd GOLD medal in Wrestling as she retained her Freestyle 68kg Gold she won in 2018.
Just like Odunayo Adekuoroye, it is Blessing Oborududu’s 4th Commonwealth Games medal after her hauls in 2010 at Delhi where she won Silver in the 63 kg, Bronze in 2014 at Glasgow, and Gold in 2014 at Gold Coast.
Esther Kolawole only needed 20 seconds to dispatch her Scottish opponent, Abbie Fountain to win BRONZE for Naija in women’s freestyle 62kg wrestling.
Kolawole was too good, defeating her opponent 10-0 Victory by Technical Superiority to secure the win.
Today, Team Nigeria has claimed three medals in wrestling – two gold medals and one bronze.
So far so good, Nigeria have won 7 gold medals, 3 silver medals, 6 bronzes
