Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp believes Uruguayan forward Darwin Nunez must be feeling odd about his reaction which ” Let his teammates down ” in the 1-1 draw vs Crystal Palace .
Liverpool were trailing at Anfield when Darwin Nunez was deservingly sent off for headbutting Joachim Anderson .
Despite the numerical disadvantage , Liverpool FC levelled up through Luiz Diaz but Klopp is disappointed with the strikers reaction .
“Darwin knows he let his teammates down. I will talk to him. It was not a reaction we want to see. ” Jurgen Klopp told reporters in his post match interview .
” He knows he will be challenged in this way, centre-halves will do that, but it is not a reaction we want. ” The German tactician stated his displeasure over his new strikers Violent conduct .
Liverpool spent a fortune to bring Nunez to Anfield so the disappointment of seeing his Home debut end with a red card would not affect their hopes of a return on investment .
Jurgen Klopp gave hint of his plan for the striker during the period he will serve suspension . The German tactician is planning to use the time to get Nunez ready for the highly physical English Premier League .
Klopp said ” But we will use the time productively. We will use the suspension for physical work to make him strong – not a punishment but to make him stronger.”
