Former Nigeria U-23 forward Ubong Ekpai makes Mlada Boleslav loan move

Former Nigeria U-23 forward Ubong Ekpai has joined Czech Republic Fortuna Liga side Mlada Boleslav on a season long loan from Slavia Prague.

 

Ekpai , has been on the books of Slavia Prague since July 2021 and spent the second half of last season at Czech Republic top flight side Banik Ostrava on loan from Slavia Prague .

The deal as annouced by Mlada Boleslav is for the 2022/2023 season . Ekpai will join Pavel Hoftych side hoping to steer a turnaround following a disappointing start to the season .

 

Mlada Boleslav is yet to win a game in the four weeks old 2022/2023 Fortuna Liga season, posting two draws and two defeats to occupy 15th place on the log.

Ekpai was unveiled at the Lokotrans Arena on Thursday August 25 and will play as one of four foreign players in the Mlada Boleslav squad for this season.

 

On Matchday three, Mlada Boleslav fell to a 1-3 loss in the hands of Ubong Ekpai’s parent club Slavia Prague on Saturday August 20 at the Lokotrans Arena.

 

Ubong Ekpai’s Mlada Boleslav debut may not take place in their Matchday four encounter Vs Fk Parudise on Saturday August 27 with the Nigerian winger not having featured in manager Pavel Hoftych preparations for the game.
