Lewandowski matches Falcao La Liga record, sets unique Barcelona record with brace v Valladolid
Robert Lewandowski has created a unique record for himself and also joined Radamel Falcao after scoring a brace in Barcelona 4-0 win against Valladolid.
The former Bayern Munich striker scored Barcelona first and third goals while Pedri and Sergi Roberto scored the second and fourth goal in the comfortable win.
Robert Lewandowski whom Barcelona coach Xavi Hernandez described as an extraordinary player and a great leader entered the record book for his goals.
“Lewandowski? I think he’s an extraordinary player. He’s a natural leader and a born worker. He’s an example for the squad,” said Xavi.
“Lewandowski is happy and that’s the most important thing. He shows football maturity, he talks to young players… He’s a natural leader.”
Robert Lewandowski who now has four goals in three La Liga games for the Catalan giants became the first player to score four goals in his first three LaLiga games since Radamel Falcao for Atletico Madrid in 2011 and the first to do so for Barcelona in the entire 21st century.
