Zanaco FC unveil Amuneke as he vows to help the players, & coaches get better
Zambian Super League club, Zanaco FC, have unveiled former Super Eagles assistant coach Emmanuel Amuneke at Zanaco Bank Plc Head Office on Thursday.
The former Barcelona attacker was unveiled as the club’s Consultant Coach, alongside his assistant, Emeka Amadi.
Emmanuel Amuneke at his unveiling revealed his excitement and looking forward to bringing his experience to the table.
He also promised to help better Zanaco FC players and coaches.
“It is my first time coaching in Zambia.
“I am bringing my experience to the Zambian League and hoping to pass it on to the coaches here and hope they grow more than myself.
“I will be happy to see the players that will pass under me do better.”
The 1994 African Footballer of the Year says he guarantees hard work and might train with the players sometimes to encourage them.
“I can guarantee you that we will work hard, at times you will see me play on the field with the players so that we can give them confidence.
“And hope they can be better than us coaches. I want to help the players grow. ”
The 1994 AFCON champion with the Super Eagles Nigeria said he has been following Zambian Football and hopefully, will better the fortune of the club.
Zanaco FC currently sit 12th in the Zambian Super League table after five games, they have won just two and lost three.
Emmanuel Amuneke will be in the dugout on Saturday when 12th placed Zanaco host 8th placed Red Arrow at the Sunset Stadium in Lusaka.
