Calvin Bassey scores his first goal for Ajax in a 4-2 win at Volendam

Calvin Bassey has scored his first goal for Ajax in a competitive game after helping the Dutch champions to a 4-2 win at Volendam in a league game on Saturday.

The 22-year-old defender and his teammates put the 6-1 horror show in the Champions League against Napoli behind them at the Kras Stadion.

Dusan Tadic scored the first goal of the game for Ajax. Calvin Bassey increased it to two to hand Ajaz a 2-0 lead going into the break.

Brian Brobbey made it three for the visitors in the second half but the home team pulled one back through Lequincio Zeefuik.

Carel Eiting scored another goal in the 86th minute for Volendam to further reduce the tally to 1 and bring the game to a nervy ending.

But substitute Davy Klaassen scored in the added minutes to give Ajax a 4-2 win away from home ahead of their Champions League game against Napoli.

Calvin Bassey was on the pitch the entire duration of the game.
