De Gea, Ramos, Alcantara ignored as Spain name World Cup squad
Spain manager Luis Enrique has named his 26-man squad for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar with David De Gea, Sergio Ramos and Thiago Alcantara notable names missing on the list.
All three players boost of experience and have been a significant part of the Spanish national team over the last decade but Luis Enrique has other options in a youth.
GOALKEPEERS
Athletico Bilbao shot-stopper Unai Simmons is favoured to start as Spain’s first choice goalkepeer at the World Cup but will face competition from Roberto Sanchez (Brighton) and David Raya (Brentford).
