Grizzlies defeat Pelicans and Pistons edge Timberwolves
Brooklyn Nets defeated the Charlotte Hornets 123-106 in their NBA clash on New Year’s Eve to improve to 24-12 and dislodge the Milwaukee Bucks as the second-ranked team in the East. Kyrie Irving led the scoring with 28 points and Kevin Durant scored 23 points. LaMelo Ball scored 23 points and 11 assists for the Hornets.
Dallas Mavericks claimed another win as they overcame the San Antonio Spurs 126-125 in their NBA encounter. Luka Doncic led the scoring with 51 points and Christian Wood scored 25 points for the Mavericks. Keldon Johnson scored 30 points for the Spurs.
Philadelphia 76ers defeated the Oklahoma City Thunder 115-96 in the NBA on Saturday. Tobias Harris led the scoring with 23 points and Joel Embiid recorded 16 points, 13 rebounds and ten assists for the Sixers. Josh Giddey scored 20 points for Oklahoma.
Miami Heat defeated the Utah Jazz 126-123 to pick up their 19th win of the season. Bam Adebayo led the scoring with 32 points and Tyler Herro scored 29 points in the game. Lauri Markkanen scored 29 points for the Jazz in the game.
Cleveland Cavaliers defeated the Chicago Bulls 103-102 to claim their 23rd win this season in the NBA. Caris LeVert led the scoring with 23 points and Kevin Love added 20 points for the Cavs. DeMar DeRozan scored 21 points for the Bulls in the game.
The Memphis Grizzlies made it 22 wins this season with a 116-101 win over the New Orleans Pelicans. Ja Morant led the scoring with 32 points and Desmond Bane scored 18 points in the game. Zion Williamson scored 20 points for the Pelicans.
New York Knicks claimed a dominant 108-88 win over the Houston Rockets in the NBA on Saturday. Julius Randle led the scoring for the Knicks with 35 points and 12 rebounds, and Immanuel Quickley scored 27 points. Kevin Porter Jr scored 23 points and ten rebounds for the Rockets.
Detroit Pistons picked up a 116-104 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves in the NBA. Bojan Bogdanovic scored 28 points and Marvin Bagley III contributed 18 points and ten rebounds. Anthony Edwards scored 30 points for the Timberwolves in the game.
